Nerves

Well, as usual my body betrays me. I had to get worked in to see the doc today because I've had GI troubles for about 5 days now, and I can't take the chance on being ill while traveling. The diagnosis was Gastroenteritis, but I believe there will be a colonoscopy scheduled in the not too distant future. :( Actually, I'm not worried about the procedure, based on what I've seen with hubby and what he's said about Versed. It might be cool to be loopy for a day.

I did tell the Nurse Practitioner who saw me today that I've been under a lot of stress lately and felt that these symptoms were related in great part to that. I did have a temp of 99.6, so I guess there could be some kind of other thing going on too, but I still think the GI upset is pretty much all stress-related. Bleah.

Well that is not fair for someone like you to get sick! Not you, who is so supportive of everyone else. I think you should rest and let hubby wait on your for awhile . About versed, ahhh I don't know what I woudl do without versed. It is used for all my EGDs and biopsies and also my colonoscopies. You shouldn't feel a thing and I almost always wake up in a really good mood. I jsut don't like it when they mix it with "fentany"...Much better when they use demerol. but they may just be my system. Either way, the prep for colonscopy is far worse than the procedure itself.

When do you have to leave? I'll be so happy for you when that is all over and things in your family settle down.

I will be thinking of you and your family while you get through this hard time.

Oh you poor thing.....I think you are right though...our nerves play havoc with our bodies. Stess can cause all kinds of systems. Being in the critical care area I see it all the time with my cardiac patients. Type A personalities, panic attacks. GI upset is very common during stressful times, especially if you are a person who suffers from Chron's, or Colitis, or OBS. I hope it is just stress that is causing all of this for you.
Sounds like your ex brother-in-law might need a phychiatric assessment. My goodness your poor sister and you. I will pray that things work out well for you.
Take care.....
